The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza, has congratulated a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon (Engr) Abubakar Momoh, on his inauguration as Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Hon. Abubakar Momoh who served twice as a member of the House of Representatives representing Etsako Federal Constituency, was sworn in as the Minister of Niger Delta Development, alongside others in Abuja on Monday.
Senator Akpakomiza in a congratulatory message, described Hon Momoh Abubakar’s appointment as a recognition of his statesmanship, steadfastness and exemplary character both in and out of office.
The Senator who doubles as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Procurement futher described Hon Momoh as a humble man of class and courage, adding that, he had no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, extensive contacts and managerial skills to bear on his new assignment.
“On behalf of the people of Edo Central Senatorial District (Esanland), I congratulate an illustrious son of Edo State, Hon Abubakar Momoh, on his inauguration, today, as a Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“You are a visionary leader who takes every assignment with equanimity and diligence. The imprint of your political and social-economic interventions as a member of the Federal House of Representatives remains indelible.
“I am confident that your appointment as the Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development will give birth to positive changes in the lives of Niger Deltans, and I am certain that you will bring your wealth of experience, extensive contacts in the public and private sector, as well as your managerial skills to bear on the new assignment.
“I wish you a successful and impactful tenure as Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development, and as a strategic player in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led ‘Renewed Hope’ administration.”
In addition, Distinguished Senator Akpakomiza praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the assignment of appointees to their respective ministries, which marked a notable departure from the past, when portfolios were given to ministers on the day of their inauguration.
The Senator hope, most earnestly, that in the coming weeks, the inaugurated ministers would give urgent attention to constituting the various boards and committees under their purview for the smooth running of the nation and their ministries.
According to him, Nigerians have high expectations and, as such, he urge the inaugurated ministers not to disappoint the confidence that Mr President reposed on them, even as he extend his heartfelt congratulations to them.
In conclusion, Distinguished Senator Akpakomiza lauded the exceptional leadership traits of Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
According to him, Senator Oshiomhole as the leader of APC in Edo State, has continued to provide responsive and proactive leadership that is producing good results for the party, and the people of Edo, both at the Federal and State level, adding that, Edo state is blessed to have a worthy son like him.
