In a heart felt message of condolence, the honorable member representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben federal constituency,Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun has condoled with the bereaved family of Late Mr. Chinedu Obimbor who was allegedly shot by personnel of the Nigeria Police Force
Recall, it was gathered the youngster Chinedu was reported to be driving along one of the metro route of Ekpoma with his brother Elijah Osimen when he was involved in a verbal altercation with patrol officers who had mounted roadblock for routine checks. However, the unfortunate incident of his demised occurred when one of the officers shot the deceased on claims of attempt to apprehend him in a frenetic chase
Rt. Hon. Marcus has expressed his dismay over the situation and avowed to see to the root of the investigation process that has begun.
“Seeing a promising young man full of life being short-lived over unprofessional conducts is utterly abysmal. No consolation will augment for the loss this has caused the family, the disrepute and distrust on the police as an institution with the prime responsibility to protect life and property more-so, the uncertainty of safety, witnesses and Nigerians would have being in knowledge of the situation
The federal lawmaker further appealed to enraged youths to remain calm, as the investigation process has commenced also to evade hijack of the persistent protest by criminal elements and hoodlums.
“I have made calls to the relevant authorities and have on credible grounds that investigation is ongoing. Just as I have sent emissaries to the family earlier, I hold a firm commitment, that Justice shall be served to the letter. We have gotten assurances from the investigating authority of thorough investigation into the incident.
Once again, accept my sincere condolence”, he resigned
