On a personal note, I have witnessed the impact of Hon. Sergius Ogun’s work firsthand. Growing up in Ubiaja, Esan South East LGA, I had the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life. One family that stood out was the Ogbebor family, who lived in our family compound. Mr. Adolphus Ogbebor, a primary school teacher and farmer, and his wife, a trader, worked hard to provide for their four children. Their son, Levi Osemudiamhen Ogbebor, was an exceptional young man, humble, respectful, resourceful, and philosophical. He grew up in a poor background but had big dreams. His older brother, Livingstone Ogbeide Ogbebor, was a shining example of what hard work and determination could achieve, having won a scholarship to study at the University of Benin.
Levi Osemudiamhen Ogbebor, a young man from Ubiaja, also received a scholarship from Hon. Sergius Ogun to complete his secondary school education. Levi’s exceptional performance earned him another scholarship to study at the University of Benin, and he now works with a big international oil company. This is just one of thousands of lives touched by Hon. Sergius Ogun’s philanthropic gestures.
Hon. Sergius Ogun’s commitment to empowering individuals and communities is inspiring, and his legacy continues to impact lives in Esan land and beyond. His foundation, the Sergius Oseasochie Ogun Foundation (SOOF), has consistently engaged in annual empowerment programs, including distribution of learning materials for school pupils, distribution of enrollment fees, university scholarships, and medical outreaches.
As Hon. Sergius Ogun ventures into the senatorial race, representing Edo Central, his constituents and the people of Esan should rally around him, recognizing his dedication to their welfare and development. With his proven track record, he is an exceptional leader who deserves support in his political endeavors ³.
