President Tinubu the timid Nigerian president who leads from the back By Rev. Olu Martins
Precisely a year ago when Bola Ahmed Tinubu took over office as Nigeria”s fifth democratically elected president since returning to civil rule in 1999, he said he would hit the ground running.
Unfortunately the man who promised to hit the ground running has run to the back. The president whenever he thinks Nigeria needs money only taxes the poor Nigerian populace who are already overburdened with inflation and insecurity.
This president has practically done everything to frustrate the masses of this country ( their regular trade mark in APC) with increase in import duties which has made cars out of reach for even the average person amawe the ordinary man.
Mr President has removed fuel subsidy and floated the naira all of which policies have only succeeded in putting holes in the pocket of the struggling hoi poloi leaving them gasping for breath.
Meanwhile when it comes to the rich cabal that holds Nigeria by the jugular the President will pamper them. The APC led federal government ministerial cabinet is the largest ever because Mr President must find food for the boys.
I listened recently to president William Ruto recently about how he goes about cutting the cost of governance for his country and I just wept for Nigeria under president Tinubu who counties to support a profligate governance style.
No attempt has been made by this president to reduce the cost of governance and yet his song for Nigerians is to tighten their belt for tough times whereas he and his ministers open theirs fully to eat hot amala and ewedu soup.
This president continues to lead from the back preferring to strangulate poor Nigerians instead of restructuring the country
so everyone can sit up.
With inflation rate at 33.69 % and still climbing this APC led Federal Government does not need any other measure to curb population as hunger is already doing a good of it ( as hunger dey kill us everyday.
Even for men to fire down freely now them dey fear because when you know the cost of baby food and pampers you will advice yourself and control your manhood (may it live forever).
If APC doesn’t not kill all us before President Tinubu finishes his only four year tenure because we can’t possibly survive another four years under APC, na to join the British army without training na him remain. After all which training can the British army give to their boys more than the pepper that President Tinubu is showing us.
May APC not happen to us again in Nigeria and especially in Edo State.
