Ahead of Edo State 2024 governorship election, a Frontline governorship hopeful on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, JP, aka, JOEFEL has on Sunday December 31st, 2023 received Royal Blessings from the traditional rulers of the entire Kingdoms of Esanland.
Speaking to the Royal Fathers, at the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Bar. Anthony Abumere II, the governorship hopeful said his visit to the Royal Fathers is to get their blessings and support for his aspiration to contest and step into the leadership of Edo State as Governor come 2024.
He explained that the Royal Fathers plays pivotal role in the security of lives, peace, progress and development of the land and peoples in every community and kingdoms. He said that He had to make the visit a prerequisite because he’s sure desires their blessings to push on through triumphantly, and that he believes firmly on the saying that “Charity Begins at Home”, and so He has come to inform his fathers of his desire to take over the mantle of leadership as “A Servant-Leader / Governor” at Osadeby Avenue of the Edo State Government House come 2024.
He said when elected, he would do everything possible to Revolutionize all the sectors of the state to enhance the People’s standard of living in the State, and especially the Rural Areas, and also put to an end to Rural-Urban migration by opening up access roads in the various communities in the state, and providing other social amenities in the Rural Areas and Cities when elected the Governor of the state. He said further that he would engage and deploy all available human resources in the state which he beloved would be significantly sufficient to prevent or drastically reduce capital flight from the state.
The former Esan West LGC Chairman, and ALGON National President said he will equally ensure that the welfare of the Traditional Rulers in the state was Paramount and significantly improved, and also create a better synergy between government and traditional rulers, stressing that the traditional rulers plays pivotal roles in the security and development of the state.
The former Vice President, World Conference of Mayors took time also to highlight his achievement as a local government chairman in Esan West Local Government Council which none before and after could beat. He also told the Audience about the Social Welfare package which involves monthly stipends to community heads both Men and Women across the LGA which he introduced and implemented throughout his 2-years and 10-months in office in recognition of their roles and commitment to the peace, progress and development of the various Communities that makes up the whole local government and this he would replicated.
The “Star-HomeBoy” also took time to enumerate His background and upbringing which was far from bed of roses, while creating a niche of survival for himself. He also told the Traditional Rulers how he was able to developed his Entrepreneurial successes and sustain his Business Conglomerates which today now have over 300 staff in his payroll, and how he was able to survive even in the midst of societal economic challenges.
The very enthusiastic governorship hopeful also told the audience the secret of His achievement in leadership and Business successes which as a trained Accountant, he strongly believe in getting every value for every Kobo and other expenses.
Joefel who spoke fully with the native Esan Dialect further reminded the Traditional Rulers that, as one of those that is wearing the Shoes of all that is happening in the state, he wouldn’t need to be told of all the myriad of challenges that are bedeviling the state ranging from Infrastructure, Education, Access Roads and Community connectivity, Security, Economic, Agriculture, Health, Social-political, Youth and Women Empowerment, etcetera etcetera, because he is directly affected as a complete dweller, and whose businesses are within and across the state. He also reminded them that as one who lives with the people together with his family, and will never have reasons for relocation after service, and that as one who is fully based within the state and not coming from the diaspora because he want to contest, and at the end be spending the meagre state resources to junketing every now and then because his main base is elsewhere, he would lead well to feel and enjoy the goodwill of his stewardship and services after his tenure.
Joefel, the Pride of every household in the state as ably described by one of the traditional rulers present, assured the Traditional Rulers that they and the entire citizens of the state would have reasons to be very proud of Him during and after His tenure as Governor, and as they are going to see him as “GODSENT” the same way his Family, his immediate Community, and even the people of Esan West saw and still see Him till date (13-years after serving as The Council Chairman). He also assured them that will not betray their trust.
Speaking on behalf of the Enigie of Esanland, the Onojie of Uromi, HRM, Zaiki Anselm Eidenojie II extolled the leadership qualities and moral upbringing of the aspirant. He then advised him to carry on his campaigns with decorum and respect for the electioneering processes throughout the period. He further told the audience that any reasonable political party would be very proud and lucky to have a candidate like Hon. Felix AKHABUE who every households knows popularly as JOEFEL.
He said JOEFEL is a household name in Esanland and the state who need not much introduction. He advised the aspirant to keep to his promises when he eventually becomes the governor of the state.
The Onijie of Igueben kingdom, HRM, Zaiki Ehizojie Eluojierior 1, JP eulogized and extolled the quality and virtue of Hon. Felix Akhabue, aka JOEFEL whom He described as a very sellable product for any political party that want to win election. The Royal Majesty told the audience that as Traditional Rulers, they all knows the extent Joefel has been helping to make other leaders in the past, and that it is only reasonable normal, and godly for all to lend their support for him as he is asking. The Enigie through the same Onojie of Igueben whom they acknowledged as the oldest on the throne among them that were present, poured their heart felt prayers on Hon. (Dr.) Felix Godsent Ehiguese AKHABUE, JP, aka, JOEFEL, and also prayed the ancestors to bless and favour him to a triumphant victory during the primaries and main election.
