Pupils of Eko-Ojeme Primary School, Ewu in Esan Central Local Government, yesterday outwitted other finalists at the recently concluded 2nd Edition of Ewu Spelling Bee Competition, organised by The Joyce Daniels Organization in partnership with Ewu Progress Foundation.
In the keenly contested competition among 9 schools and 18 pupil-representatives, both private and public schools, St. Jude Primary School came second while Eguare Primary School emerged third.
The Founder of the Joyce Daniel Organization, Mrs Joyce Daniel Oamen, said spelling enhances education by improving students’ critical reasoning skills and helps them develop poise and composure.
“It also encourages reading because if you are a reader, you will be a great speller, and you will have depth and can contribute meaningfully to the development of any nation you find yourself in,” stated Joyce Daniel.
She said the organization believe in the building of fulfilled and happy people through education, development and order. In leading the growth, development and success of thriving communities and societies, our focus is on the individual(s) who make societies up.
While congratulating the winners, she advised them not to rest on their laurels but to study hard and prepare for the international stage.

He encouraged teamwork of the young and rising stars will commending the Joyce Daniels Organization for this initiative and the Ewu Progress Foundation for partnership support.
