PDP STAKEHOLDERS MEETING IN ESAN SOUTH EAST LGA
The Hon Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Adaze Aguele-Kalu, convened a meeting with the PDP Stakeholders of Esan South-East Local Government Area to discuss various important topics related to Governance and Development in Esan South East Region and Edo State at large . The meeting aimed to address key issues and initiatives, fostering collaboration between the government and the local community.
The Opening Prayer by Architect Joshua Omokhodion, Hon.Commissioner for environment and sustainability, The PDP Chairman Mr Tony Aziegbemhin gave his opening remark by appreciating the presence of members and their commitment to the progress and growth of the party and pushed for collaboration to achieve the desired goal of the Esan people and Edo State.
Hon. Adaze Aguele-Kalu emphasized in her speech the need for civil service reform to enhance efficiency and transparency in government operations.
She highlighted the importance of merit-based appointments, training, and continuous performance evaluation to ensure the delivery of quality public services. The concept of a Joint Implementation Team was introduced as a collaborative effort to streamline and coordinate projects between the state government and the local government. This approach aims to maximize the impact of development projects and ensure effective resource allocation.
The Hon. Commissioner further said that “Team Go and Verify” initiative (which involves sending teams to various communities to assess the status of ongoing/completed projects, feedback from residents) is fully active by so doing improves accountability, address challenges, and enhance the quality of project implementation.
Discussions centered around the importance of tax collection and the fair imposition of land use charges. Mrs. Adaze Aguele-Kalu stressed that these funds are crucial for financing public projects and services, and she highlighted the government’s commitment to using these resources responsibly.
She provided an overview of how tax proceeds are being utilized to fund development projects within Esan South East Local Government Area. She presented examples of completed and ongoing projects that have been made possible through the prudent allocation of resources.
Uhe Road, Renovation of classroom block at Eguare Primary sch Oria, ongoing Ugboha/Ubiaja Road, Renovations and Constructions of classrooms, health center in Ubiaja , construction of Magistrate court amongst others.
