Oshiomole Unsettle as ChannelsTV Anchor Ask him to Bring Okpebholo for Interview
By Kingsley Ohens
Senator Adams Oshiomhole got more than he bargained for as he was a shadow of himself yesterday when he faced a question from a Channels Television’s Sunday Politics anchor, Geoffery Oyeama.
After taking some questions about how Edo State All Progressive Congress, APC, had gone ahead to cause a crisis and trying to defend the party that they were not the one that led the crisis where one police officer, Inspector Akor Onu was killed, Adams Oshiomhole went on to speak ill of the Edo State PDP government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki, but, the program anchor, Mr Jeff interrupted him, noting that the questions are concerning the APC candidate and not the governor of the state drawing his attention to the fact that he’s not in the ballot thereby urging the Senator to help bring the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo who has turned down several invites for an interview sent by the media station to tell the people about his preparedness and discuss his manifestos for the good people of Edo State.
Oshiomhole, who was unprepared for the question while trying to defend the party’s candidate, Monday Okpebholo, totally went off the grid of the question, saying that governance is not in eloquence or speaking good English, noting that Monday must not talk with Channels as “he is already speaking to the people”.
It’s worthy of note that since February Monday, Okpebholo was declared the flag bearer of the APC, he has not appeared in any of the media houses to discuss his vision or manifesto for the people of Edo, always running away from the pressmen and turning down every invite to appear on the air.
Another question Oshiomhole found embarrassing tonight and was unable to respond to was the issue of the nation’s economy under the leadership of his party, APC.
The former national chairman of the APC ran out of patience and queried the interview why he was asking him questions he wasn’t prepared for.
He said: “When I was invited for this interview today I wasn’t told I will be speaking about the economy of Nigeria and how things have gone back”..
He deliberately avoided speaking to that issue.
