Oshiomole remains my leader despite our minor differences during the primary election- Okpebholo
The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the off-cycle election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo popularly called Akpakomiza, said that Senator Adams Oshiomhole remains his leader despite their minor differences at the cause of the just concluded primary election.
It may be recalled that at the build up to the primary election that saw the emergence of Senator Okpebholo, Senator Oshiomhole who is the leader of the party in the state had openly declared his support for his preferred aspirant, Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
But, in a twist of fate and the goodwill of the vast majority of the members of APC in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo was overwhelmingly elected as the party’s governorship candidate during the premary election on February 22nd, 2024.
In a statement of Peace, Unity and Reconciliation released by the Director of Media and Publicity of Senator Monday Okpebholo’s Governorship Campaign Organization, Godswill Inegbe, the APC flag-bearer appealed to his supporters and members of the party to embrace peace, promote unity and foster genuine reconciliation, adding that Senator Adams Oshiomhole remains the leader of Senator Monday Okpebholo despite their minor differences at the cause of the primary election.
Mr Inegbe futher said that the primary election is over and it is now time to work together to create a prosperous state that works for all Edo indigenes and residents.
“The progress and development of our dear state that we seek is now in our collective hands which will be activated through the ballot come September 21st. Therefore, I appeal to the conscience of the good people of Edo State to avail Senator Monday Okpebholo the opportunity to serve them as their Governor and to turn our dear state into a construction and production hub.
“Senator Okpebholo is the only candidate that is sufficiently acquainted with
the political nuances of Edo State, and he is well-prepared to create the Edo that works for the vast majority, and not microscopic imported elitist as currently seen in the state for the past seven years.
