OSHIOMHOLE AND ESANLAND: HATRED FOR A TRIBE TAKEN TOO FAR
When in one of his para-lucid moments, Adams Oshiomhole said unequivocally, that he would build a bridge across Esan land so that he will not drive on Esan soil when going to his village from Benin, it was not taken seriously because his justification was that Esan people didn’t always vote for him, but that was a lie told to veil his eternal hatred for the Esan people.
In 2007 Esan people voted for Oshiomhole and went to court to defend and retrieve his mandate. Oshiomhole’s best witnesses and most credible evidence came from Esan land, the records are there.
In 2012, the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial district again voted massively for Oshiomhole for his reelection. These efforts were never appreciated in proportionate political appointments or developments. What a shame?
The highest Esan person in position throughout Oshiomhole’s eight years as governor was Jerry Obazele who through hard work and merit rose to the position of the head of service in Edo State Civil Service and was surreptitiously removed and replaced after a few months. A manifest hatred for the Esan race.
Oshiomhole’s political history has shown consistency in his blood letting appetite and deliberate efforts to maim his political adversaries. Recall in 2016 how at his behest, Odubu campaign was attacked and disrupted at Auchi and in the process about five innocent persons sustained gunshot wounds including the escort commander of Odubu who lost one of his eyes in the incident. Again, just yesterday the 17th of February 2024 thugs believed to be loyal to him and acting on his instructions attacked and disrupted a legitimate process of collation of primary election results and in the process innocent citizens including press men and women were brutalized with machete cuts, cameras and other valuable assets destroyed.
Oshiomhole’s sustained brazen attempt to stop the Esan man from getting the APC governorship ticket through the instrumentality of Hope Uzodima, a usurper, a scoundrel and a hopeless rogue must be resisted and nothing should be spared to retrieve this precious mandate, on it, is a legitimate crown of entitlement for the Esan race. Following yesterday’s unfortunate event, blatantly orchestrated by Oshiomhole to supplant an Esan man by his stooge, a blemished character and a poisoned soul, Esan people have served Oshiomhole notice, if he succeeds in his power show to subvert the will of the people and the legitimate aspiration of the Esan race, he should forget it. No amount of persuasion, appeal, reconciliation and forgiveness sought that can mend fences. You cannot shoot and later apologize, an eye for an eye will not leave everybody blind this time around. The judgement day will come and come swiftly and the judgement will be harsh and enduring.
For the Esan folks who work in cahoots with Oshiomhole to steal and to destroy the Esan mandate, history is watching and your story will be woven with threads of betrayal and treachery.
