Osayande resumes works on Iwogban Primary School
The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, has mobilized contractors to resume works on Iwogban Primary School, Ward 1, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
The School, located on Lucky Way, is a 6-classroom block with HM office, toilet and staff room, it ranks amongst numerous schools built by the Osayande-led administration during his first term, but it (Iwogban) did not meet completion as a result of tenure end.
Inspecting the ongoing project, on Monday, Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, alongside, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, applauded the level of work done on the project, noting that upon completion, the facility will take off immediately to serve its purpose.
“We are impressed with the level of work done, there is need to visit site on inspection of the project, this is due to the impact of the project on the beneficiaries, we are determined to see the project meet completion so that the community can take over and enroll their wards; the Chairman has said the facility must complete in record time, and begin to serve its purpose”, Idehen noted.
“We are going to follow every phase of development of the project and ensure it meets standard; the community has expressed satisfaction with the project on several occasions and have pledged commitment to maintain the facility upon completion and commissioning”, she added.
Iwogban Primary School, one of Osayande’s signature projects, commenced in 2020, forming part of Osayande’s policy on educational development for the good of the children and wards of the community.
“Our mandate is to complete this school in the next four (4) months, we are working rapidly to ensure that mandate is met; Chairman has charged us to complete this facility within the period, and that we must do, as the community will be glad to see their school come alive”, the contractor spoke.
Iwogban Primary School is first educational project the Council Chairman will initiate since taking over the reigns of power in Idogbo, September 4 this year.
Recall that in his first term, 2018-2021, Osayande built and rehabilitated Army Day Secondary School, Ward 1, Oguola Secondary School, Ward 5, Obazagbon Primary School, Ward 8, Evbuekpen Primary School, Ward 9 and others, with over five thousand (5,000) furniture supplied to schools across the local government area.
Iwogban Primary School, located on Lucky Way, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the primary health centre, it aims to afford children and wards of Iwogban community and environs educational opportunities upon completion.
Councilor, Ward 1, Hon. Lucy Guobadia, Councilor, Ward 4, Hon. Esosa Nosa-Odia, Chairman, Ward 1, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Party faithfuls and members of the community were present at the inspection.
