Osayande meets Edo Artists Association of Nigeria: pledges increased commitment to culture sustainability, productive partnership

The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, has pledged increased commitment to the sustainability of the Benin culture and tradition.
“I will continue to support causes aimed at improving and strengthening the sustainability of the Benin culture and tradition”, Osayande said.
“Any society that abandons its traditional values and ethos is a conquered territory”, he added.
The Council Chairman made the claim during a meeting with members of the Edo Artists Association of Nigeria (EAAN) in his office, Council Secretariat, Idogbo, Benin City, on Wednesday.
Commending the Chairman for his commitment to the Benin cultural values, leader of the Association, Joseph Uhunmwagho, noted that, “Osayande is one local government administrator whose marks will remain indelible for a long time.”
Uhunmwagho touched on various developmental strides of the Council Chairman urging him to continue to serve the people of Ikpoba-Okha in the right direction.
“We follow your works on a daily basis; we are aware of your interventions in the construction of schools for Ikpoba-Okha students; your sports and culture initiatives, rural electrification projects are some of your good works that attracted us to your administration; be rest assured of our support in all you do”, Uhunmwagho noted.
Osayande assured the group of his administration’s commitment to the development of the Benin culture through productive partnership and innovations; the Council Chairman acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the association in the defence of the “gates of the city.”
He noted that his administration is opened to ideas, suggestions aimed at improving the LGA’s economy through culture.
