Osayande Bags Niger Delta Exemplary Leadership Award
The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, on Thursday, bagged the Niger Delta Exemplary Leadership Award; the event held at the Prestige Hotel and Suites, Ihama Road, GRA, Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Organizers of the event said the award was conferred on the Council Chairman, following his deliberate efforts at building peace and harmony in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, represented by the Council’s Vice Chairman, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, and accompanied by the Council’s acting Head of Department, Environment, Mrs. Blessing Uwadiae, others, were at Prestige Hotel, Thursday, to pick the peace award on behalf of Osayande.
In her remark, the Vice Chairman appreciated the organizers for acknowledging Osayande’s feat, noting that, significant achievements have been recorded since the Council Chairman assumed office September this year, for his second term.
“We are greatly motivated by this singular honour; this recognition will spur us to do more for the people of Ikpoba-Okha; be rest assured that the Osayande-led administration will not relent in its determination to build lasting peace in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area”.
“On behalf of the Chairman, I sincerely appreciate the organizers, who, amongst many, singled out the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman for this honour; we will not let you down”, the Vice Chairman added.
Other awardees at the Thursday event were the Executive Chairman, Esan South East Local Government, Hon. Louis Imhandegbelo, a former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Chris Okaeben and Bursar, University of Benin, Mr. Victor Imagbe, others.
The event, which was well attended by people from all walks of life, marked the 20th edition.
