Oneghe Sele Foundation Condemns Senator Okpebholo’s Campaign Tactics
Irrua, Edo State – The Oneghe Sele Foundation has issued a strong communique to Senator Monday Okpebholo, urging him to cease his insulting campaign tactics against Dr. Asue Ighodalo. The foundation expressed deep concern over the senator’s repeated derogatory remarks, which they argue undermine the principles of democratic engagement.
The foundation specifically criticized Senator Okpebholo for calling Dr. Ighodalo an “armed robber,” labeling such language as inappropriate and counterproductive. “Such language discredits your campaign and detracts from the values we, as the Esan community, uphold,” the communique stated.
The foundation highlighted Dr. Ighodalo’s adherence to a positive and respectful campaign, focusing on his Prosperity Agenda and the SWEEG pillars of Security, Welfare, Economy, Environment, and Good Governance. They urged Senator Okpebholo to promote his own agenda and vision for Edo State rather than resorting to negative campaigning.
Ms. Rafah Omonigho Musa, Director of Operations at Oneghe Sele Foundation, signed the communique, calling for a higher standard of discourse in the political arena for the betterment of Edo State.
The foundation’s call for civility underscores the importance of respectful and productive political engagement as the state approaches its upcoming elections.
