Obaseki visits families of late Giwa-Osagie, Coach Broadrick-Imasuen, extols exemplary life of late Edo legends
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Monday, condoled with the families of late Rilwan Victor Giwa-Osagie and late Coach Sebastian Broadrick-Imasuen, describing them as great Edo legends who have made the State proud in their various professions.
Obaseki and his entourage visited both families, in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
At the residence of the late Giwa-Osagie, Obaseki said the late patriarch was an accounting professional who distinguished himself, contributing to the development of the State and country.
The governor noted, “We are here to console the family on the passing of daddy who is a legend and one of those we look up to in the corporate community, Benin City, and Edo State, especially in the accounting profession. He was our equivalent of Akintola Williams. Anybody who had any serious business to do and to look at their books, it’s Giwa-Osagie.
“We need to celebrate his life and celebrate him as he lived a good life and accomplished all he set out to do and made his mark, setting a good example for us on how to relate with one another and conduct ourselves.
“We thank God and praise God that we had the opportunity of having him with us for over eight decades. He gave all and showed love, humility, hard work and key values of Edo personality. You have a champion as a father, so let’s celebrate him.”
