Obaseki commiserates with Plateau people, govt over deaths, injuries from collapsed school building
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has commiserated with the people and Government of Plateau State over deaths and injuries resulting from a collapsed school building in the state.
In a statement, the governor said he is saddened by the unfortunate incident and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and quick recovery for the injured.
According to him, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of school children in Plateau State after a school building collapsed at Saint Academy, Jos.
“It is disheartening that children died where they had gone to seek knowledge for a better future. It is indeed a devastating news, and I commiserate with families of those who lost their lives. Our prayers are also with those trapped under the rubble as emergency responders battle to rescue them.
“For the injured, we wish them quick recovery. This is a really dark day, and we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed.”
He added: “On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I extend heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Plateau State as well as the families of the victims and the injured.”
