Minister Momoh joins eminent personalities in honoring Oba of Benin’s Birthday and 7th Coronation Anniversary
…..says it’s a celebration of tradition, unity, progress
The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh, has joined other distinguished personalities to commemorate the birthday and 7th-year Coronation Anniversary of the highly revered Oba of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II.
This occasion marks a momentous celebration of both the Oba’s personal milestone and his remarkable reign.
Recall that the Oba, who ascended the throne on October 20, 2016, sharing the same date with his birthday, is the 40th Oba of the Benin Kingdom.
In a statement personally signed by the Minister and made available to journalists in Abuja, Engr. Momoh said the two-in-one event provides the opportunity to appreciate God and to also celebrate the revered traditional ruler whose reign has brought unimaginable peace to the State.
The monarch’s reign has brought unprecedented progress to the people of Edo and humanity as a whole. His peaceful and diplomatic approach to issues of governance and traditions speaks volumes – he is not only an exemplar but also legendary.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the monarch for his dedicated preservation of the rich culture and traditions of the Benin Kingdom, which he cited as a model for other cultures to follow.
His words, “This traditional ruler is unwavering in his commitment to forging connections of unity, love, and mutual respect,” Momoh remarked.
He went on to highlight how the Oba’s leadership demonstrates that traditional institutions play a pivotal role in ensuring peace, unity, and progress in the country.
