Let the soul of Inspector Akor Onuh rest in peace

When in pursuit of their personal ambitions, most politicians can be very wicked and ruthless. They do not care about those they are hurting and are ready to ride on anyone’s tragedy to achieve their ends. Their sympathies are phantom and fake in such circumstances. When it Favour’s their interests, you will find same people wining and dinning together while the children and relatives of their victims are left to fend for themselves.
The Edo governorship election threw up some avoidable tragedies. One of which was the unfortunate incidence at the Benin Airport that claimed the life of Inspector Akor Onuh an orderly to Senator Monday Okpebholo the Edo State Governor-Elect. His tragic death has been turned into a political weapon by the APC to hunt down any strong opposition voice from the PDP. So far over 80 PDP members have been fingered as suspects. Recently, the APC State Chairman, Jarret Tenebe announced that the witnesses the PDP intends to parade at the tribunal against the results declared by INEC will be arrested in connection with the death of the police inspector. He had earlier on national television accused the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor of being one of the masterminds because he was raising objections to the results being declared by INEC. What insensitivity!!!!
Unfortunately, the APC has found accomplices in the Nigerian Police who are willing to use the tragic death of one of their colleagues as a pawn in this dirty game of chess by politicians with no conscience. People that do not care how the children, wife, relatives and friends of the slain officer feel. Their aim is to use the death to silence any opposition at all cost.
Let the gentle soul of Inspector Akor rest in peace. I am particularly pained whenever I see his tragic death being used as a political weapon by mindless politicians. I had the privilege of knowing him one on one and I do not see why he should be used as a sacrificial lamp by politicians who careless about anyone but their personal interests. Let any of the people being pursued and accused decamp to the APC tomorrow if you will hear any noise again.
We all saw the widely circulated video where the Edo APC state chairman accused Comrade Philip Shuaibu of stealing his diamond plated wrist watch. Today, they are best of friends because they now have common interests. What of the fake sympathy for the Oba of Benin in the case with some of his Onogies? Did they show up when the case came up last Monday? Of course no because they believe that the election is over and they have used it to achieve their unholy aim. It is difficult to see a politician showing genuine concern for anyone without a personal interest in view. Once that interest is no longer there, forget.
Let the soul of our dear brother and friend, Inspector Akor Onuh rest in peace. I pray that God grants his soul eternal rest and expose his real Killers for justice.
