…..gives the party 20 days ultimatum to provide evidence or face legal action
A chieftain of the Labour Party and a former ward 9 councillorship candidate of the party, Pastor Nelson Osemekhian Agoni has denied the allegation levelled against him that he connived with the Labour Party (LP) Esan Central Local Government chairman, Mr. Cyril Osagie to steal Five million Naira (N5,000,000) meant for the party’s gubernatorial electoral mobilization during the last governorship election in Edo State.
In a statement released on Sunday he personally signed and made available to the public, Pastor Nelson Agoni described the remour as fake, lies from the pit of hell aimed at tarnishing his reputation, misleading the public, and scoring cheap political points.
He challenged the labour party state working committee and Mr. Osunbor Idemudia to make available evidence of the Five million Naira transaction in his name or he will seek legal action to resolve the issue.
The statement reads;
Comr. Pst Nelson Osemekhian Agoni Respond to LP state working committee/ Mr Osunbor Idemudia of Esan south east LGA over the rumor of stolen 5million.
There has been rumour circulating that comr. Pst Nelson Osemekhian Agoni connived with the LP LGA chairman Mr Cyril Osagie to steal 5million meant for electoral mobilization during the last governorship election in favour of APC candidate, then Senator, now Gov. Monday Okpebholo Akpakomiza.
I Comr.PST Nelson Osemekhian Agoni has said I never got 5million from anyone, upon hearing this from several persons in the LGA and outside, that the state secretary, Hon OSes Eromosele said so, I called Hon. OSes Eromosele to get clearance of his claims. he denied ever saying such and said those spreading such news are liars.
Mr Cyril Osagie, the then LGA LP chairman only told me of the money which Hon. OSes Eromosele took a lion share of and later came to share peanut for the LGA/ward excos. With receipt of evidence of transfer made to Hon OSes Eromosele. I wasn’t there when that was done.
Surprisingly, Mr Osunbor Idemudia said it to my face publicly during my visit to Right Hon. Sergius Ogun at his residence in Ugboha last week, during the Christmas celebrations. He said I was a shameless pastor who stole 5million naira from the labour party. I had the record of his ranting and accusations which I will present in court when the time comes.
I have worked for years to build my integrity and name.. I will not allow hungry political bigots like Arrogant and senseless Osunbor Idemudia and So called Hon OSes Eromosele to drag my name in the mould.
I am requesting the labour party, Edo state working committee and Mr Osunbor Idemudia to make available, evidence of 5million given to me or the evidence of 5milion transaction made with or in the name of comr. PST Nelson Osemekhian Agoni.
After 20 days of this write up, if no evidence is provided I shall be seeking legal approach to this with my family legal team.
