June 12: Let’s Go Further Together – Hon. Sergius Ogun Tells Edolites
Foremost gubernatorial hopeful and outgoing member of the House of Representatives representing Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. (Barr.) Deacon Sergius Ose Ogun has beseeched Edolites to join hands with him to move Edo state to higher heights of all-round development and greatness.
The astute federal lawmaker who is popularly known as the Oracle of Rural Development made the plea in a press release issued by his media aide to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day. While going down memory lane, Hon. Sergius Ogun eulogized the unapologetically and implacably patriotic men and women who withstood the dictatorial excesses of the military juntas and engendered the safe return of democratic governance to the nation’s polity in 1999 even as he paid glowing tributes to those who paid the supreme price including but not limited to late Chief MKO Abiola and his lovely wife, Kudirat. ” Great Edolites, please accept the clearest expressions of my sincerest felicitations as we commemorate Democracy Day today. While some netizens are of the opinion that there is nothing to dance and sing about, we in Edo have something to lean on as successive democratic administrations in the state have done their bit to enlarge the fortunes of our common coast. As a state, we may not be where we want to be just yet but we are certainly no longer where we used to be. While I give enormous credit to the incumbent state government for its unrelenting determination to tackle the state’s teething challenges, I do strongly believe that a lot more still need to be done to take Edo from where she is today to where she should be tomorrow. On this note, I would like to plead with you all to join hands with me to move Edo to higher heights of development and greatness. With your support, we will get there. Together we can.”
