John Miyaki Resigns His Appointment As Media Aid To Niger Delta Minister, Hon. Momoh

The Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Niger Delta Engr Abubakar Momoh, John Miyaki has resigned his appointment as Media Aide to the minister.

John Miyaki in a copy of his resignation letter made available to Newsmen thanked the minister for giving him the opportunity to serve as media aid. The statement however sighted the developments in politics back in Edo State, where they hail from. His withdrawal of support from the APC candidate in the Edo Governorship election, whom the minister has publicly endorsed, may create an untenable work environment.

The statement emphasizes that his stance is guided by his long-held belief in prioritizing sound judgment, moral clarity, and merit over partisan considerations in the election of public officials, particularly for critical offices like the Governorship.

The letter reads;

Engr Abubakar Momoh
The Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Development
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Dear Honourable Minister,

Letter of Resignation

It is with a deep sense of resolve and commitment to my values that I submit my resignation as Special Assistant on Media, effective immediately.

Over time, I have faced unchecked hostility from certain individuals who believe they have a proprietary claim to your attention. This has significantly distracted from our work and hindered my ability to function optimally. As someone who prioritizes impact and meaningful contributions, I cannot continue in a role where my capacity to deliver is compromised and efforts are sabotaged.

My decision is further informed by recent developments in politics back at home in Edo State, where we both hail from. My withdrawal of support from the APC candidate in the Edo Governorship election, whom you have publicly endorsed, may create an untenable work environment.

I must emphasize that my stance is guided by my long-held belief in prioritizing sound judgment, moral clarity, and merit over partisan considerations in the election of public officials, particularly for critical offices like the Governorship.

I firmly believe that the governance of Edo State is too vital to be influenced solely by political affiliations. Instead, we must prioritize competence, resourcefulness, and visionary leadership that inspires and aligns with the demands of our time.

I appreciate the opportunity to have served in this capacity and am grateful for the experience. Please be assured of my continued goodwill and best wishes for the Ministry and your future endeavors.

Thank you.
