The Member Representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, RT Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has expressed shock and disbelief over the persistent attacks on Esan West and Igueben Local government areas of his constituency by alleged Fulani herdsmen, who seem to have laid siege on these communities.
Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun (KSC), made this known while reacting to the Overnight raids in Udo Community in Igueben Local Government Area, where alleged Fulani herdsmen stormed the community around 8pm destroying houses and maiming several indigenes with bullet wounds .
According to the House of Representatives Member, this is unacceptable, and calls for urgent action and intervention as residents in this community have consistently faced attacks by these alleged Fulani herdsmen without a solution.
The member also called for urgent attention over the incident in Emaudo, Ekpoma in Esan West, where a woman while trying to escape from alleged Fulani herdsmen had her two legs shot, a situation in which the state Government has neither visited or taken action to curb these dastardly acts of these alleged Fulani herdsmen who seem to have laid siege on the State.
Worth of mention is the Young hunter Ehigie who lost his life while rescuing hostages from kidnappers den in Udo Community.
The Member of the House of Representatives is soliciting the support of Mr. President to come to the aid of the people of Edo State, by urging the IG of Police and heads of other security agencies in Nigeria to beef up security in Edo state and also come up with more creative ways of tackling this ugly insecurity menace.
