House of Assembly Election: LP Raises Alarm Over Plan By PDP To Disrupt Election
The Edo State Labour Party, LP, has raised alarm over plans by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to unleash havoc on the voters, especially the labour party supporters in Saturday’s House of Assembly election.
The chairman of the party, Ogbaloi Kelly made this disclosure today while briefing journalists in Benin City.
“We want to use this medium to bring to the notice of the general public, especially the security agents to note and protect the voters, especially the labour party supporters who is their main target on the election day. The plan of APC and PDP is to stock the ballot boxes if they are unable to disorganize the place, which may eventually caused over voting in such polling units and Lead to cancellation. They intend to carry this unwholesome act at the stronghold of the labour party”.
Ogbaloi advised the Public to be vigilant while in their various polling units on the election day to make sure that such a thing did not take place, adding that they must not fail to report to the security agents when they notice any strange movement around the polling units.
He alleged that there were arm building by the PDP to disrupt election where they discovered that the labour party is in clear lead which will also make INEC to cancel such units. He added that this is what the labour party supporters is likely going to face on the election day.
The party chairman also alleged that the Vigilantes have been given instructions by the hierarchy of PDP and gave them a lot of money to do their dirty job by harrassing the voters on the election day.
“This is not a joke. Because labour Party supporters are being traumatized. We are therefore calling on the police Commissioner to ensure they deal with the situation. The DSS should also take note of this and make sure they give the Labour Party supporters protection who will be there in their large numbers to cast their votes to ensure labour party win the election.
He reiterated that his party is not in any Alliance with APC or PDP in Edo State.
Ogbaloi called on the Edo People to come out en mass to vote for the labour party as they did during the Presidential election.
