Hon. Victor Ehis Okosun dedicates victory to God, ward 6 constituents at church Thanksgiving
Still basking in the euphoria of victory in the September 2nd local government elections in Edo state, the ward 6 Councillor and the leader of the legislature, Hon. Victor Ehis Okosun, on Sunday, said that his victory at the polls was a product of the grace and mercy of God. Hon. Victor Okosun stated this during a thanksgiving service heard at Holy Family Catholic Church, Usugbenu-Irrua.
The councillor accompanied by his family, Ward 5 councilor and majority leader of the House, Hon. Amb. George Washington Egbele, the former Edo central senatorial woman leader, Hon. Mrs. J. U Okosun, Hon. Pius Ogbole aka Edo Chemist, ward 5 youth leader, ward 6 woman leader.
The House Leader stressed the importance of thanksgiving in perfecting the acts of God upon any man, adding that he overcame so many challenges to become councillor and now the House Leader.
He said: “I am happy to be here to join my friend and brother, family, leaders and my political associates to give thanks to God for our successful inauguration as the councillor of ward 6 and the Leader of the House and for all our victories at the elections.
“We have come to thank God for finding us worthy to serve at this time in the history of our dear wards and local government.
“My chairman, fellow councillors and I are products of God’s mercy and grace. We will continue to give God thanks for giving us the opportunity to lead Esan central local government at this time despite several challenges, which we overcame by God’s grace.
“Thanking God is very important and that is why we will continue to appreciate the hand of God upon our lives and local government,”
Hon. Victor Okosun commended the Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki led administration in Edo state for his skills training and entrepreneurship programmes, fight against insecurity, assuring they will replicate MEGA agenda of the governor in Esan Central Local Government to touch the lives of the Constituents.
He assured the people of ward that his representation would be fair and just on even distribution of projects, enjoining the people to continue to pray for him and the council chairman to enable them deliver on their campaign promises to the people.
Speaking to news after the Thanksgiving program, Hon. George Washington Egbele thanked the leadership of party for their support all through the electioneering period and promised they will deliver on their campaign promises.
