Hon. Joseph Ikpea, congratulates Winner of Nigeria Spelling Bee Competition, Miss Omosivie, Master Osikhena Andrew.
A Frontline governorship hopeful in the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, Hon. Joseph Ikpea, has sent congratulatory message to Miss Omosivie Egbon, an SSS 1 student of University of Benin Consultancy School, Benin City, who will represent Edo State at the national level of the Nigeria Spelling Bee Competition scheduled to hold in Port-Harcourt from July 26 – 29, 2023.
He also congratulated Master Atsegbua Osikhena Andrew, a JSS 2 student of Young Scholars Academy, Benin City, for emerging winner of the Jnr. category of the competition.
The congratulatory message is contained in a statement signed personally by Hon. Joseph Ikpea, and made available to journalists in Benin city, the Edo state capital distinguished former council boss of Esan South East Local Government Area, commended the brilliance of the duo in doing Edo proud by emerging overall best in the state wide competition. He further ascribed the success to hard work and determination to beat the best and be the best as displayed by both students.
He said; “I congratulate Miss Omosivie Egbon and Master Atsegbua Osikhena Andrew, for emerging overall winners in this year Nigeria Spelling Bee Competition held in Edo state, and I also commend you both for doing the state proud as you would be representing Edo at the national level, please maintain the high level of intelligence, brilliance and hard work which could later in the near future position you as representative of the nation at the international level.
“I also advise you not to relent in this your effort but put on more determined effort in order to come top at the national level competition coming up in two months time. And if you win at that level then be rest assured that you shall be competing at the world class level. I also appreciate the parents and school from which the duo emerged from, for taking time to groom them to this enviable height, I urge them not to be deterred by challenges of life but ensure you play your role perfectly in the lives of the children. He said.
Omosivie Egbon emerged overall winner of the Snr category of the competition held recently in Benin City, after she defeated 11 other contestants to qualify for the final round of the competition.
Also in the other category, Master Atsegbua Osikhena Andrew, a JSS 2 student of Young Scholars Academy, Benin City, emerge winner of the Jnr. category of the competition.
With the victory, they are to represent Edo state at the national level of the Nigeria Spelling Bee Competition scheduled to hold in Port-Harcourt from July 26 – 29, 2023.
