Hon. Ikpea mourns elder statesman Prince Abdumalik Afegbua
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Edo State, Hon. Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, has expressed condolences on the passing of All Progressives Congress APC Chieftain, an elder statesman, a visionary leader and father, former national leader and member of BOT APC, Prince Abdumalik Afegbua, who passed away on the 7th July, 2024.
Mourning the loss of the elder statesman, Hon. Ikpea in a statement said Edo has lost a great patriot, servant-leader, a committed democrat and an illustrious elder, who loved the state and gave his best for its development.
He noted that the late Prince Abdumalik Afegbua was a principled politician, an exemplary leader who led by example and served selflessly in all the positions he occupied.
Hon. Ikpea remarked that the late elder statesman jealousy guarded his name and integrity in his public service trajectory, adding that the deceased’s country home in Edo North served as Mecca for those who needed his wise counsel, guidance and direction on how the state could move forward.
Describing the late Prince Abdumalik Afegbua’s demise as personal loss to him, the APC Chieftain said the deceased was a leader he looked up to as a young politician, adding that he had lost a political father whose life was an inspiration to him and those coming behind.
Hon. Joseph Ikpea commiserated with the family, friends and political associates of the deceased urging them to be consoled by the good life he lived and the worthy legacies he has left behind.
“We shall miss our great leader. But we are consoled with the fact he lived a good life and left behind legacies of integrity and service.
“On behalf of my family, teaming supporters and political associates, I express our condolences to the children and immediate family members and pray that God will grant our leader eternal rest and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”. Ikpea added.
