Hon. (Dr.) Joseph Ikpea felicitates with Oba of Benin on appointment as Uni Chancellor of NOUN
A frontline governorship aspirant in Edo State, and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. (Dr) Joseph Ikpea, on behalf of his family and the people of Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, has congratulated the Oba of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR on his appointment as the chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, by the federal government of Nigeria two years after the institution has been without a Chancellor.
The university, is the largest in Nigeria with over 120,000 students, cutting across the various learning centres nationwide.
Hon. Joseph Ikpea in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Benin City, described the Oba’s appointment as well deserved.
The statement quoted the governorship aspirant saying; ”the wealth of experience of the Paramount Ruler of Benin Kingdom will immensely benefit the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).”
He also commended President Buhari for the appointment of the Benin monarch, Ewuare II and expressed hope that more development will come to the university.
“I wishes His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR a successful tenure as the University Chancellor and pray God to bless him with good health and wisdom,” the statement added.
