Hon Dr Joseph Ikpea congratulates Rt. Hon. Prof. Julius Ihovbere on his emergence As House of Representatives Majority Leader
Edo 2024 Frontline governorship aspirant, Hon Dr Joseph Ikpea on Tuesday 4th July 2023 congratulated Rt Hon Prof. Julius Ihovbere on his emergence as the majority leader of the House of Representatives.
Hon Dr Joseph Ikpea’s congratulatory message to Prof. Julius Ihovbere was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, shortly after the news of the announcement of principal officers of the House of Representatives by the speaker went viral.
In a statement personally signed by Dr Ikpea, he noted that Prof. Julius Ihovbere’s emergence came at a time governance under President Bola Tinubu, was being re-tooled for the benefit of the masses.
This, according to him; was to regain the trust and interest of the citizens in the national project of good and progressive governance for which the National Assembly, as the democratically elected representatives of the people must play a major role.
As the representative body of all Nigerians, Hon. Dr. Ikpea urged Prof. Julius Ihovbere to be a strong partner in this effort.
The governorship aspirant also noted that this was a crucial time in our nation when the people need a Parliament that will further improve on the legislative accomplishments of the 9th Assembly and work for the people.
Hon. Ikpea, therefore, urged Hon. Prof. Julius Ihovbere to justify the confidence reposed in him especially at a critical moment like this. He however assured that he was confident Prof Ihovbere would make us proud considering his wealth of experience in legislative matters.
