GROUP HAILS OBASEKI, ORDIA OVER APPOINTMENT OF ENAHORO OJIEFOH AS COMMISSIONER
Ebakota Movement in Esan Central LGA has commended the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and the immediate past Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Engr Clifford Ordia over the appointment of Amb. Enahoro Ojiefoh as the Commissioner representing the Local Government Area (LGA) in the reconstituted State Executive Committee. The movement also pledged that its members will not leave the PDP but remain to rebuild the party back to its winning form in the LGA.
In a caucus meeting conveyed by the President of the movement, Amb. Tony Okonigene today Saturday 15th July 2023 in Usugbenu, Irrua, Esan Central LGA, the movement hailed Governor Godwin Obaseki and Engr Clifford Ordia for not allowing the protracted in-house disagreements that bedeviled the party in the state to becloud their judgement in the appointment of Amb Enahoro Ojiefoh who was the House of Assembly candidate of the Legacy group in the last primary. It noted that the actions of the Governor so far, have demonstrated practically his willingness to have one united party in the State.
The Ebakota Movement also viewed the allocation of key portfolios to Commissioners from Edo Central Senatorial District by the Governor as a vote of confidence by His Excellency in the abilities and capacities of Esan people to deliver. It shows that the Governor has fully keyed into the Edo Agenda to produce an Esan Governor as his successor.
The Ebakota Movement also mandated its leadership to meet with the PDP leader of the Local Government, Senator Clifford Ordia, to table some discriminatory actions by some leaders in the LGA against members of the Ebakota Movement especially where a ward Chairman was sent out of a meeting in the LGA. They call on the party leadership in the LGA to demonstrate the types of commitments the Governor has shown by ensuring that positions in the LGA are given out meritoriously and equitably irrespective of divides.
Earlier, the Honorable Commissioner for Mines and Energy, Amb. Enahoro Ojiefoh had appealed to the members of the Movement to join hands together with the Governor and Senator Clifford Ordia to move the PDP in the Local Government back to its winning ways.
