The Governor of Edo state, Godwin Enogheghase Obaseki paid the octogenarian a condolence visit at his country home in Oza Street Off Upper Sapkonba Road, Benin City. The Governor expresses his sadness over the loss and prays for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
According to the governor, I’m here this evening to condole with you regarding the demise of your beloved wife, the New Benin Market woman leader, Mrs Jane Imasogie.
As I was reading about the news of the passing of your wife, I also saw a video of the national delegates Congress where you still have the energy to leave your house to go and play your role as leader of the party. Upon that, you still drove to the centre where you have been nominated to represent the people’s interest as a national delegate representing uhunmwode local government.
To me, yesterday, I was particularly amazed at your strength as a person. You really showed that you’re a strong man with an uncommon strength, and somebody who is a real leader.
I pray for God Almighty to continue to be with you and for the soul of your demise wife to continue to rest in peace. and as such, on behalf of the government and the good people of Edo state, please accept my most sincere visit. The governor stated .

Monday Osaigbovo, Former Edo state house of assembly member and former Edo North PDP senatorial candidate, Hon. Paschal Ugbome Esq, Uhunmwode local government council chairman, Hon Adodo Kenneth Osarobo, Edo North PDP senatorial woman leader, Mrs Maria Oisamoje and other notable leaders earlier arrived to register their heartfelt condolences.
