Falana Reacts As Obi is Set To Drag APC To Court Over Presidential Election Result
After learning that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, will sue the APC, Nigerian attorney and human rights activist Femi Falana responded.
When discussing the matter, Falana said “The decision of the Supreme Court demonstrates that the Nigerian democracy is in a wonderful period”. He furtherly narrated that; the federal government shouldn’t interfere with the court’s decision-making process.
In his quoted statement, “Since the federal government promised to abide by the court’s decision, which will be binding, they should follow through on their word and do as instructed when the appropriate moment comes. They will be causing chaos and bloodshed in Nigeria if they don’t follow the right procedure of the constitution”.
Femi Falana stated that if the court rules in someone’s favour and grants them the victory, nobody—not even the federal government—should challenge that decision if they want peace to prevail in this nation.
