EWU – UROMI- AGBOR ROADS GETS ATTENTION AS HON. OKOJIE VOWSTO PURSUE ROAD REHABILITATION.
The Chairman, of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream) in the House of Representatives and Member representing Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency of Edo State, Hon. Prince Odianosen Okojie, has reassured Edolites and Nigerians on efforts embarked on for the immediate repairs of the Ewu-Uromi-Agbor, Auchi-Ewu-Benin Federal Highways in Edo State.
The lawmaker while lamenting about the poor and terrible state of the road, noted that Edo State has the worst roads in the Country.
Recall, in July 2023, Hon. Okojie, called the attention of the Federal Government to the deplorable state of the Ewu – Uromi – Agbor and Auchi – Ewu – Benin Federal Highways.
The Lawmaker who emphasized the need for immediate action, urged the Federal Ministry of Works and the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) as part of his prayers, to carry out immediate palliative repairs on the failed portions of the highways that have claimed the lives of so many Nigerians. He also noted that the repair of the roads would alleviate the hardships faced by commuters and possible reduction of traffic caused by the poor condition of the roads. According to him, urgent repairs would help improve safety and ensure smoother travel experiences for motorists and other road users.
The Honourable member as part of efforts to ensure immediate intervention on the aformentioned roads as well as other roads within the Federalconstituency, has also paid several visits to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Sen. George Akumen.
