ESAN WEST PDP UNITES AS GT, ULINFUN , EDIONWELE, CEASER, ZUBERIOUS, MINDCAST, IHENYEN, OKORO, IDIAKHUA CLOSE RANKS
…Special Committee tasks leaders to go on membership drive
It was a gathering of all political juggernauts of the PDP in Esan West on Wednesday when the Edo Central PDP Special Committee came calling. For the first time in a long while, the leaders of the party from the various groups came together to speak with one voice.
Notable PDP leaders from the local government who came to receive the Special Committee led by The PDP State Chairman and Chief Tom Ikhimi were, Dr Francis Ulinfun , The LGA chairman, Hon. Andy Ikhajangbe, State Treasurer, Chief Benjamin Ceaser, State Assistant Legal Adviser, Chief Paul Itua, former NASS member, Hon. Joe Edionwele, former State Financial Secretary, Mrs Philo Ihenyen, former Council chairman, Engr. Monday Abulu, former Council chairperson, Chief Mrs Stella Okoro, former LGA party chairman, Barr. Victor Idiakhoa, Edo Central Security Network boss, Joel Aidamabor (Mindcast), all the 10 ward chairmen and other ward leaders. It was the first time that the various leaders came together after the last general elections.
The State chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi thanked the leaders for honouring the Committee with their presence. He extended a hand of fellowship to the State Treasurer, Chief Benjamin Ehilenboadiaye (Ceaser). The chairman acknowledged that he took some steps that were offensive to Ceaser in the past and asked the leaders to join in appealing to Ceaser to forgive and forget for the sake of the Edo Agenda for a Governor of Esan extraction. He also welcomed the presence of Hon. Zuberious Edeoghon, a former House of Assembly Aspirant under the now rested Legacy Group.
Responding, Chief Ceaser expressed his total commitment for the Edo Agenda for a Governor of Esan extraction. He said that no sacrifice will be too much for him to make. He
promised to work for the PDP to achieve the goal.
On his part, Hon. Zuberious appealed to the Committee to reach out to the National Vice Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih to get his support for the project.
Chief Joe Edionwele said that the PDP in Esan West has decided to collapse all sundry groups and be one united party. He declared that Esan West henceforth will speak with one voice.
Mrs Philo Ihenyen while responding to a complaint by the LGA woman leader, said that all parallel structures raised during the crisis period have been collapsed. She noted that she had always preached unity within the party.
In the same vain, Dr Francis Ulinfun and Barr. Victor Idiakhoa emphasized on the need for the leaders to always speak with one voice. They urged the Committee to come up with a candidate that has the capacity to win the governorship elections.
The Ward chairmen through their spokesman, who is the ward 3 chairman, promised to implement any decision reached by the Special Committee concerning the choice of a governorship candidate for the party.
Speaking on behalf of the youth, Joseph Azemobor appealed to the party to allow the various wards to elect their delegates in free and fair congresses.
The Special Committee later paid a courtesy call on a top leader of the party in Edo Central, Elder Pius Omofuma (GT) in his house. Elder Omofuma pledged his support for the Edo Agenda for a Governor of Esan extraction. He promised to always assist the PDP within his powers.
