COMPETENT:
I think the word local many times causes us to think ‘incompetent’, ‘inept’; but Local Government in my opinion is the smallest unit for measurable, scalable, achievable, realistic goals for growth and development.
At the level of local government leadership, we usually have the some of the most incompetent set of people. This is one of the reasons I have thrown my hat to the ring to say no, the local government which has the handshake with the lives of the people, and directly affects the quality of living of the people, is exactly where I believe we need the most competent people like myself.
Hence if we have 774 competent Nigerians with capacity in leadership, governance, policy-shaping and of course the ability to rally people, Nigeria will wear a new look. It will reduce stress on the State governments, and federal government because then, we’ll be leading from the bottom up, increasing and expanding, fully beneficiating the resources that we have as a people.
