Esan Central Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Iyoha Congratulates Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun On Tribunal Victory
Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and chairman Esan central local government council area, Hon. Paul Onosedeba Iyoha, has congratulated Rt Hon. Marcus Onobun , member representing Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben federal constituency, House of Representatives on his tribunal victory.
Hon. Paul Onosedeba Iyoha issued the congratulatory message to newsmen in Irrua earlier today via a statement he personally signed, a copy of which was sent to Urbanscoopnews.
However, Hon. Iyoha had while congratulating Rt Hon. Marcus Onobun, member representing Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben federal constituency, House of Representatives on his tribunal victory had described the judgement as one of the best judgements in Nigeria’s judiciary.
Speaking further, Hon. Iyoha said the judgement is no doubt a true reflection of the will of the people in old Okpebholo Federal constituency that turned out massively to vote for Hon. Marcus Onobun during the election.
Nevertheless, the Esan central local government Chairman had particularly described Rt Hon. Marcus Onobun as a trail blazer, stressing that he is one of the best thing that has happened to Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency, adding that Hon. Marcus Onobun should be given the needed support for him to continue to deliver on his mandate and not to be distracted by opposition elements.
“With the tribunal judgment giving Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun victory, there is no doubt that there is hope in Nigeria’s judiciary ” Iyoha added.
The National Assembly and State Election Petition Tribunal which hold in Benin City, on Monday, dismissed the case filed by Decn. Patrick Idiake of the All Progressive Congress (APC) challenging the election of Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Election.
The Chairman of the panel of the tribunal, who read the judgement while dismissing the case in Benin said that the petitioner case lacks merit.
