Empowering Education: Enaluna Foundation Distributes Free Exercise Books To Primary Schools In Esanland
……says education is the future of our tomorrow leaders
Kingsley Ohens reporting
Against the backdrop of challenges posed by the economic hardship as the September schools’ resumption date, an Edo State-based non-profit organisation (NGO), Enaluna Foundation, has distributed free notebooks to over 15 primary schools in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State as part of the strategies towards ensuring a hitch-free new academic session.
This is just as the foundation, which spoke against the backdrop of challenges posed by the millions out-of-school children in Nigeria, also appealed to governments at all levels and well-meaning citizens to accord education the highest priority it deserves to ensure that the number of out-of-school children is greatly reduced.
The Founder and President of the foundation, Rtn. Endurance Enaluna Ochiemhen, who spoke with our correspondence on Friday after the day 2 distribution of notebooks to students in some primary schools in the local government council area.
Rtn. Enaluna who is also business mogul, explained that the, “Back-to-school” intervention programme of his foundation was also part of the strategies for ensuring that children of school age are kept in the classroom and as such, contributing towards reducing the challenges posed by the over 18 million out-of-school children in Nigeria which is contained in the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) report of May, 2024.
Enaluna Foundation had provided the near 300 pupils of primary schools with school bags, a range of stationary which included exercise books, rulers, running into millions of Naira.
Harping on the rationale behind the programme, the philanthropist explained that his foundation’s gesture was borne out of the realisation that the economy is currently harsh and people are finding means of livelihood difficult, promising that the foundation target is to reach out to all primary schools in the local government.
