Edo2024: Former Labour Party Edo House of Assembly Candidate For Orhionmwon East, Hon. Osariemen Dumps Party
By Kingsley Ohens
Edo Labour Party and its gubernatorial candidate suffers another setback as former candidate of the Labour Party for Orhionmwon East Local Government constituency, Hon. Oseriemen Agbonison in the just concluded state House of Assembly election, resigned his membership.
In a letter addressed to his ward chairman, Aibiokunla ward 2, on Thursday, Hon. Oseriemen said his resignation was a result of his political perspective no longer aligns with the party’s ideology.
He thanked the party for giving him the platform to contest the election and wish the party well in its future engagements.
The letter reads; I write to convey my decision to officially resign my membership from the Labour Party (LP) with effect from Thursday 16th May, 2024.
After careful appraisal of the present political state of the party and bearing in mind the stance I have envisaged for my political future, I have come to the conclusion my perspective no longer aligns with the party’s ideology, therefore, I have no other option than to resign with respect.
I wish to thank members and all the organs of the party particularly Orhionmwon Local Government chapter for paving the way and availing me the platform upon which I contested the seat of Orhionmwon East Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly. It’s been a privilege and honour for the golden opportunity given to me.
While wishing the party well in all its future political engagements, to my supporters, I shall keep you updated on my next political move in due time.
