Edo Tops National Fiscal Transparency Rankings in Q1 2024
The Edo State Government through the Ministry of Finance is pleased to announce that the state has emerged number two in the recently released States Fiscal Transparency League (SFTL) Table for Q1 2024 by BudgIT
Nigeria.
This achievement underscores the Edo State government unwavering commitment to openness, accountability, and good governance in the management of public finances.
Edo State shares the top spot with Anambra State, with both states scoring a total of 93 points. This is a testament to our collective efforts to ensure citizens have access to comprehensive information on government spending and economic activities.
This ranking reflects the transparency measures the government have implemented, including the timely publication of key fiscal documents, the functionality and accessibility of our state website and e-Procurement portals.
We are proud of this accomplishment, which signifies the progress we’ve made in building public trust and strengthening our financial management systems. This recognition further motivates the government to sustain and improve our transparency practices for the benefit of Edo citizens.
Edo State government commend the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Budget, Planning and Economic Development, Office of the Accountant-General, Edo state’s Public Procurement Agency (EDPPA) and all stakeholders who have contributed to this achievement.
