Edo State Lawmaker, Hon. Sunday Fada, Empowers 500 Women With Cash

The lawmaker representing Esan Central State constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Sunny Fada Eigbiremonlen, has empowered 500 women in his constituency with a total sum of N25million, to boost their small and medium scale businesses.
Disbursing the cash at the Esan Central Local Government Council field in Irrua, the lawmaker stated that the choice of empowering 500 women in his constituency was in part fulfillment of some of his campaign promises, to empower the youth and women with the aim to alleviate poverty and to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to changing the socio-economic status of women and the youth in his constituency.
He said that the money would help to cushion the effect of economic hardship, which was already crippling most small and medium scale businesses.
Reacting, a beneficiary of the gesture who spoke on behalf of others, lauded Hon. Fada’s stewardship approach, describing him as a generous person who attaches importance to the welfare of his constituents.
Earlier in his opening remarks, Former Senator, Edo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Clifford Ordia, commended the lawmaker for the gesture and charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money, while encouraging the people of the local government to continue their support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate describing him as a man of virtue, character and competency, who has been committed and consistent in the course of Edo State.
According to the Senator, Dr Asue Ighodalo is acquainted with the administrative prudence, and has what it takes to drive home sustainable growth and development to the people of Edo State and promised that Esan Central will deliver for the guber candidate and PDP.
The Director General, Edo State Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, commended Hon. Sunny Fada Eigbiremonlen for his unrelenting assistance to his constituency.
The DG, who monitored the exercise, described it as the best way to reduce unemployment and be self-reliant.
“We must commend Hon. Fada for the cash empowerment for the women in his constituency. His zeal, including his checks and balances to ensure that the grants got directly to the actual beneficiaries is also commendable”, he said.
He said Nigeria and Edo State have benefited more under PDP than APC, and charged the people to continue to support the Peoples Democratic Party and vote its governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo come September 21, governorship elections.
He therefore, called on other lawmakers to emulate the Edo state lawmaker, Hon. Sunny Fada Eigbiremonlen.
The Edo State People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate who was the special guest of honour at the event, Dr. Asue Ighodalo commended the lawmaker for the women empowerment project and also congratulated the beneficiaries of the gesture.
The guber candidate said he will prioritise women development when he becomes the governor of the state describing them as resourceful and resilience.
Dr. Asue asked the women and the people in the local government to vote for the PDP governorship candidate to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
