The Edo State chapter of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated the Governor of BAYELSA State, His Excellency, Doyle DIRI and the entire PDP family over the victory of the party in the governorship elections declared by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today. The party also commended Bayelsans for keeping faith with the PDP.
In a statement issued in Benin after the announcement by INEC, the Edo state chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, attributed the victory to the visionary leadership of Governor DIRI which has seen the state enjoying the dividends of democracy over the past 3 years despite the hardship foisted on the nation by the APC led federal government. The statement noted in part; ‘You Excellency, I wish to congratulate you on behalf of the Edo state PDP for a victory well deserved. I also extend our gratitude to the people of BAYELSA state for keeping faith with the PDP and rejecting the APC.
‘There is no doubting the fact that your visionary leadership which culminated into the wide spread of democratic dividends is what the good people of Beatles decided to reward with their votes. Despite the attempts by agents of darkness to scuttle the wishes of the people, God Almighty stood with you and the party. We give glory to God.
