Edo PDP celebrates Edolites on new year’s day.
…assures of the party’s commitment to good governance
As the year 2024 rolls in today, the Edo State Chapter of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), celebrates with Edolites. The party wishes the Governor, members of the PDP family and indeed all the good citizens of Edo State a happy and prosperous new year.
In a statement made available in Benin today, the State chairman of the party, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, congratulated the people of Edo State and thanked God for making it possible for all to witness the new year. In the statement , the chairman noted that; ” As our good Lord ushers us into the year 2024, I wish to on behalf of the leader of our party in Edo State, His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the members of the PDP State Executive Committee and all our teeming party members in the State, wish all the good people of Edo state a happy new year.
For us in Edo state, this year 2024 is a defining one as it is an election year when we shall all go to the polls to choose our next Governor. It will mark a turning point as the choice we shall eventually make will decide whether our state will progress or regress. The next Executive Governor must be able to key in effortlessly and leverage on the foundations of economic growth and civil service reforms that have been laid by His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki.The PDP is committed to good governance and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
For the PDP adhoc delegates that will be saddled with the task of choosing the candidate of the party, I urge you all to make your choices in the best interest of the party and the state. I also wish to appeal to the aspirants to go about their consultations peacefully without rancor and show respect for each other. I dare say that any of the PDP aspirants is capable of winning the general elections for the party. I want to pledge on behalf of The PDP National Working Committee, that the party will ensure free and fair congresses and primary.
Once again, let me congratulate every Edolite as we celebrate the brand new year 2024 in good health. Let us go about the celebrations moderately and be more prayerful.
