A Pan Edo State non governmental organization, Edo Integrity Forum, has condemned in its entirety, the barbaric action of thugs alleged to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trying to invade the tribunal court sitting in Benin City, describing the attempt invasion as an assault on the judiciary.
The forum stated this in a press statement on Friday, signed by its national chairman Apostle Jerry Oshodin. They urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to order a thorough investigation into the incident with a view to arrest and prosecute the culprits.
The group further stated that, the failure of the security agents to deal with the invasion of the court may further occasioned to avoidable escalation of violence and this may lead to loss of life.
They called on all political parties and stakeholders to embrace peace and allow the electoral tribunal to carry out its duties in the State.
