The Orhionmwon Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Community to Community Campaign has been making waves in the local government area, with a recent rally in Abudu Town, Ogan, and Evbobanosa witnessing a massive turnout of electorates. The campaign team, led by prominent PDP stalwarts, met with residents ahead of the September 21st Edo gubernatorial election.
The rally saw an unprecedented turnout of residents who trooped out to identify with the PDP and its candidate. The attendees chorused that the PDP is the only hope for the state, lamenting the untold hardship faced by the people due to the incompetence and wickedness of the APC-led federal government.
In Abudu, the campaign team officially received Mr. Kingsley Aiyevbomwan, aka Amini, Mrs. Iwinosa Sylvester, and Mr. Okolo Isaac, aka Gas Man, of the APC into the PDP fold. They were accompanied by hundreds of their supporters, who cited the PDP’s regard for the Abudu people as their reason for defecting.
The defectors listed several landmark projects executed by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration, including the College of Education, the massive High Court Building, and the construction of the Abudu Bridge. They appreciated the Council Chairman, Hon Newman Ugiagbe, for appointing their kinsmen as Secretary to the Council and Special Adviser.
The Abudu residents promised to reciprocate with total commitment to Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr Osarodion Ogie’s governorship race. Council Chairman Ugiagbe assured the residents that the aged-long electricity problem would be resolved before his one-year anniversary in office.
Ugiagbe also revealed that the process of restoring power to Abudu and its environs had reached an advanced stage. Additionally, he stated that he was currently undertaking a total reconstruction of the Abudu health center.
In Ogan, the Council Chairman announced that the construction of the Community Town-Hall was ongoing. He assured the residents that with him at the helm of affairs at the Council and Dr. Ighodalo at the state level, the community would experience unprecedented development.
The PDP Team entourage included prominent stalwarts such as the Orhionmwon PDP Chairman, Prince Stanley Iduoze, the Campaign DG Hon. Monday Igbinigie, Hon. Bright Iyamu, Dr. Hon. Midwest Ogbebor, and Mrs. Nosakhare Aladeselu, Amb. Wesley Asoro, Barr. Charles Aideyan, Mrs. Isoken Osa, Councilors, among others.
The campaign team’s message reecho with the residents, who expressed their desire for a sound and compassionate leadership as already exemplified by Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr Osarodion Ogie. They vowed not to allow the APC near the seat of power in Edo State.
