Edo 2024: Group reiterates total support for Ighodalo

A Frontline support group under the aegis of Asue Kitchen has reaffirmed its total commitment to canvas, rally voters for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate and his deputy in Edo State, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie Esq, ahead of the September 21, governorship election.
The group comprising indigenes from Edo State in the 18 local government area and 192 ward in the state reaffirmed its support during a press statement on Sunday in Benin City which was jointly signed by the state coordinator, Mr. Eugene Okoaguale and the General secretary, Barrister Benedicta.
The group informed members present of some of its activities since its formation.
These include mobilisation of eligible voters to register for their PVCs, collection of PVCs, press statements, media support for the candidate and the PDP, printing of campaign materials among others.
They maintained that their choice to canvass vote for Asue Ighodalo, Osarodion Ogie was based on track records, demonstration of competency, capacity, integrity, intellectual capacity and assessed commitments to human capital development.
Dr. Mayor Nnwanbuake charged members of the group to remain focused and dedicated in their activities, support for Asue Ogie and the PDP while assuring them that PDP will come out Victorious in the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election.
He said the APC doesn’t have anything to campaign with but only dwell on lies and propaganda to market their gubernatorial candidate who doesn’t have the capacity, competence and intellectual capacity to govern a sophisticated state like Edo.
On his part, the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Ralph Odua commended the members for their commitment so far in the task of canvassing, mobilizing support for Asue Ighodalo, Osarodion Ogie Esq and the PDP.
He urged the members not to be swayed by APC lies, propaganda and threats. He assured the people of PDP victory and Edo will continue to enjoy good governance under Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
The statement reads in parts:
“The Asue Kitchen are a group of members that cut across all languages in Edo State, with support base in the 18 local government and 192 wards in our state. Our members support individuals with integrity, competence and reputable character into elective offices and not political parties.
“It was on this premise that the group ASUE KITCHEN was formed as an independent advocacy group to ensure Edo State gets the very best that can actualise its aspiration and build on the work already done by incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, in order not to derail the thirty-year development plan of Edo state government.
We want to state categorically clear that Dr. Asue Ighodalo has the competence, capacity, track record, empathy for the downtrodden, intellectual capacity, integrity, being cosmopolitan in outlook, youthfulness and interest in the things that concern the youths, education, as well as concern for diversity.
We unequivocally reaffirms our total support for the PDP, the Governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie. We will continue to Mobilise, canvas, vote and defend our votes.
We believe that the right way to get good governance that will make life more liveable for us and our children and restore Nigeria’s lost dignity is to get the right calibre of people into leadership positions everywhere and every time, and Dr. Asue Ighodalo is the man”.
