EDO 2024: ESAN TRADITIONAL RULERS TASK EDO PDP ON UNITY

The Esan Traditional Rulers (Enigie), have advised the Edo State PDP to unite in order for the party to realize the Edo Agenda for a Governor of Esan extraction in 2024. They counseled the party leaders against repeating the mistakes of 2007 that led to the premature ouster of Professor Osunbor as Governor of the state.
The Enigie made the calls when members of the Edo Central PDP Special Committee paid a courtesy call on them in the palace of the Onogie of Ewatto on Thursday during their monthly general meeting. Addressing the Royal fathers, the leader of the Special Committee, High Chief Tom Ikimi, thanked them for the roles they have been playing in ensuring that the Edo Agenda for a Governor of Esan extraction in 2024 sees the light of the day. He informed the royal gathering that the Special Committee was set up by the Senatorial leadership of the PDP with a mandate to select one out of the eight aspirants within the party from the Senatorial District . He assured that the Committee will carryout this assignment without fear or favour. He asked the traditional rulers to support the Committee with prayers.
The chairman of the Edo Central traditional Council meeting, HRM, the Onogie of Ewatto, while speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed confidence in the members of the Committee. He advised the Committee to also address the divisions within the party so as to avoid what happened between 2007 and 2008. He assured all that the Enigie of Esanland will support any candidate from any part of the Senatorial District that will eventually be presented to them by the Committee. The Royal fathers prayed for the success of the Committee.
The Enigie who attended the meeting were, The Onogie of Ewatto, The Onogie of Igueben, The Onogie of Uromi, The Onogie of Ugbegun, The Onogie of Ugun, The Onogie of Okalo, The Onogie of Ewu, The Onogie of Ekpoma, The Onogie of Ujuogba, The Onogie of Ogwa, The Onogie of Urohi, The Onogie of Ubiaja, The Onogie of Uzea, The Onogie of Ewossa, The Onogia of Oria, The Onogie of Ebelle, The Onogie of Ohordua, The Onogie of Emu, The Onogie of Orowa, The Onogie of Uroh, The Onogie of Urohi, The Onogie of Egoro and The Onogie of Amahor
The Committee also paid a courtesy call on The Onogie of Irrua in his palace. The Ogie Irrua expressed his total support for a Governor of Esan extraction in 2024 and gave the Committee his blessings.
