Edo 2024: Edo Okpa Unity Forum Calls For Peaceful Poll
Ahead of September 21 2024, Edo State governorship election, a Pan Edo socio-Cultral Organization under the aegis of Edo-okpa Unity Forum has called on the Independent National Commission (Inec) and the people of Edo State for violent free election.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Board Of Trustees (BOT), High Chief Peters Evbota and made available to Newsmen, the forum expresses concern over escalating tensions and violent clashes among supporters in the state.
The forum reminded stakeholders of the two leading political parties candidates, both from both senatorial districts, are brothers and sons of Edo State, and urged supporters to refrain from violence, name-calling, and blackmails.
They also called on INEC and security agencies to ensure a free, fair, and credible election devoid of external interference.
