The Edo State Vice Chairman of The All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Dr) Francis Inegbeniki, has resigned from the party. He made this known in a letter he personally signed and addressed to the APC Chairman in ward 9, Esan Central.
Chief Inegbeniki in the letter dated June 8, 2024, informed the party that he has evaluated the current activities in the APC and has come to the conclusion that they conflict with his core principles, values and the interest of his people hence his decision to leave the APC. He thanked the party for giving him the opportunity to serve as the state Vice chairman till date.
Chief Francis Inegbeniki, the Uzoya of Esan land ( which means one that removes . shame from the people) is well known for his dogged stance for the interest of his people. He is a man when he says ‘yes’ he stands by it. His resignation has exposed the bitter wranglings within the APC as the party battles to sweep the inadequacies of the party under the carpets.
The APC has been running about to pacify Chief Inegbeniki. Yesterday, the APC leaders put a call across to the National Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Ganduje, who spoke with Chief Inegbeniki and assured him that he will speak to the Mr President on his behalf.
Whether Chief Inegbeniki will rescind his decision to dump the APC because of the offer from the National Chairman or not will define being the Uzoya of Esanland. The question before every lip is; “will Chief Francis Inegbeniki continue in a party whose activities he has confessed conflicts with his core principles, values and interest of his people ?”
All eyes are on Chief Francis Inegbeniki on what he tend to do next politically.
