Edo 2024: APC’s Guber aspirant Hon. Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea officially pulls out from guber race
….says party is supreme
Ahead of the 2024 governorship poll in Edo State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Hon. Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea has officially disclosed to his teaming supporters of his withdrawal from the governorship race.
Hon. Ikpea who made this declaration to his supporters on Sunday in his country home in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, commended the Joe Ikpea Campaign Organization for believing in him and their continued loyalty to his leadership, promising better days ahead. He also commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for excellent work in pruning down the aspirants to a sizable number and having been able to manage other issues within the party.
The former Esan South East Local Government Council Chairman, noted that the party’s resolutions were bigger than any individual’s ambitions, saying: “While I am passionate about the prospect of serving the good people of Edo State as their governor, I want to make it unequivocally clear that my ambition is not greater than the supremacy of our party. The APC’s collective goals and the well-being of the people of Edo State are of utmost importance to me. I am fully aligned with the party decision.
“Party supremacy is a fundamental principle that guides our democratic process. I am fully committed to upholding this principle and contributing to the success of the APC in Edo State. Our collective strength lies in unity, and together, we will build a party that truly represents the aspirations of the people.
“As a loyal and committed member of the APC, I want to reassure everyone that I will abide by the decisions of our great party. The APC’s internal processes, including primaries and other party mechanisms, are essential for maintaining democracy and ensuring that our collective goals are achieved. I am fully aligned with the party’s values and will wholeheartedly support the candidate chosen by the APC both financially and otherwise.
In their separate remarks, the APC ward 3 chairman, Mr. David Eselokhomen, commended Hon. Ikpea’s decision to withdraw from the race and support the party decision, reassuring the APC chieftain of their continuous loyalty and support.
Mr. Michael Eramheze, noted that it was not an easy task to make a sure decision to withdraw from the race but, commend Ikpea for taking the decision for the sake of the party, shows that he is a true party man who respects party decisions and leadership, and prays God continues to bless him.
Members of the campaign organization unequivocally reaffirm their total support and loyalty for the leadership of Hon. (Dr.) Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, the decision of the leadership of the party at the national level and promised to work assiduously for the party governorship flagbearer.
