EDO 2024: APC Will Take Over Edo;- says Ikhine

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and aspirant for the governorship election in Edo, Engr. Gideon Ikhine has assured Edo people that the All Progressive Congress, APC, Will take over Edo state come 2024.
Ikhine spoke to newsmen in Benin City, during a visit to the leadership of the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he formally informed the party of his intention to contest the forthcoming Edo governorship election.
The politician who hails from Edo Central Senatorial district was a governorship aspirant in 2020 on the platform of the PDP, but stepped down for Governor Godwin Obaseki ahead of the party’s primary, three years ago.
He said the APC in the state is getting bigger and stronger with the array of politicians defecting to the party from across the other political parties, assuring that the chances of the APC winning the governorship election are brighter.
Ikhine, who noted that he has the capacity to help return the APC Party to government in the state said the division among members of the Edo PDP further boosts the opposition party chances to achieve success in the forthcoming governorship election.
He said the party with the likes of Sen. Adams Oshiomhole from Edo North Senatorial district and himself , from the Central Senatorial district, the APC remains the party to beat.
Ikhine, who boast of being instrumental in securing victory for candidates in the Edo Central Senatorial district particularly for the Senate, House of Representatives and Edo State House of Assembly during the recently concluded general election on the platform of the APC said the Governor Obaseki led government has failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
“The peace we enjoy in APC, is going to translate to victory in the forthcoming Governorship election. “Ikhine said.
Engr. Ikhine also said that he is very confident that with time, other aspirants in his party will buy into his vision and back him up for the Governorship election.
Continuing, he said his Government will preserve the tradition and cultural heritage of the state. “Im contesting to ensure the people get full benefits they desire”.
He said if elected he will invest heavily in agriculture and ensure that the people are fully incorporated into the program for full benefits.
