EBAKOTA MOVEMENT DECRIES REMOVAL OF LABOUR PARTY NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
….. describes the development as a set back for the Edo Agenda for an Esan Governor 2024
The Ebakota Movement received with serious concern the court order suspending the National Chairman of The Labour Party, Julius Abure . The order of the court acting on an experte motion brought in by an individual who is neither a National Executive nor ecen a ward Executive of the party alledging fraud is a gross miscarriage of justice.
Fraud is a criminal offence which must be proven beyond all reasonable doubts. Until proven guilty, the accused person is deemed by our laws to be innocent. A court cannot act on an experte motion brought under a criminal allegation without first putting the accused on notice and hearing from him or her.
As a frontline movement for the Edo Agenda for an Esan Governor in 2024, we view this miscarriage of justice against a fellow Esan son with serious concern. With Julius Abure as the National chairman of The Labour Party, we had a sure bet that the Labour Party being one of the three frontier parties in the state, will produce an Esan candidate just as we hope the APC and PDP will do.
The resort to this shinangia way to get the National Chairman out of office is a serious set back for the hopes and aspirations of the Esan people and should be condemned by all well meaning Esan Sons and Daughters. We implore him and the Labour party to explore all legal means to set aside the order which we believe was given in error, at the shortest possible time before the congresses and primaries for the Edo Governorship elections.
